Hotel Grand Mercure and Gift City Club get FL3 License approval for serving liquor: Tapan Ray

Gandhinagar: Two establishments, namely Hotel Grand Mercure and Gift City Club, have received approval for the “wine and dine” facility, i.e., FL3 licence, which will allow them to serve liquor in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). The Gujarat government relaxed its liquor prohibition policy in December 2024, allowing the consumption of alcohol in the GIFT City area of state capital.

Tapan Ray, Managing Director of GIFT City, announced during a press conference today that “two applications were received, one each from five-star Hotel Grand Mercure and Gift City Club, and both applications have been approved by the committee.”

The Gift Facilitation Committee has endorsed the applications. Once these entities obtain the licence, they will be permitted to serve liquor for consumption in the approved wine and dine facility area only. Liquor will be served exclusively to Liquor Access Permit holders or Temporary Permit holders.

Staff, company owners, and visitors authorised by the companies operating in GIFT City will have the privilege to consume liquor within the GIFT City premises. DeshGujarat
