January 24, 2024
Sabarkantha: In a major setback to the Congress party in North Gujarat ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Congress leader Dr. Vipul Patel is joining the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today. Patel, along with his 500 supporters, will be joining the ruling party in the presence of BJP Gujarat chief CR Patil.
Vipul Patel has a background in cooperative politics, having held the position of director in Sabar Dairy for four consecutive terms. Patel has also served as the President of the Sabarkantha District Congress Committee and was the Congress candidate from Himmatnagar in the 2014 by-election of the Gujarat Assembly.
The news follows the recent resignation of sitting Congress MLA from Vijapur, C J Chavda, who resigned from the Gujarat Assembly after quitting the Congress party.
According to Vipul Patel, his inspiration to join the BJP stems from Narendra Modi’s commendable works and development initiatives, such as the Ram Mandir’s pran pratishtha recently. DeshGujarat
