Former MLAs, former candidates, other Congress leaders join BJP in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held another event at its Gujarat headquarters today to induct more Congress leaders into its fold. In the event held at Shri Kamalam in Gandhinagar, around 1500 people, including Congress leaders and party workers, joined the BJP.
Gujarat BJP Chief CR Patil welcomed these leaders, including two former MLAs and District Panchayat members, into the party, felicitating them with the saffron cap and scarf of the party.
BJP welcomed the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Jamjodhpur – Lalpur assembly seat, Chirag Kalariya, to the party. Another former MLA from Dabhoi seat, Balkrishna Patel (Babu Dholar), who had contested and lost the assembly poll in 2022 on the Congress ticket, rejoined the BJP. Patel was formerly with the BJP but had joined Congress in 2022 after he was denied a ticket. Ramchandra Baria, who fought the 2022 assembly election from the Halol seat as an independent candidate, also joined the BJP.
State Congress’s Other Backward Class (OBC) department head Ghanshyam Gadhvi and the district Congress chief of Ahmedabad Balvant Gadhvi, who contested Vatva assembly seat in 2022, also joined BJP. Jashwant Yogi, who headed the Vicharati/Vimukt Jati cell of Gujarat Congress, was also among the leaders who joined the ruling dispensation.
Vadodara Dairy’s Director Kuldipsinh, who contested the assembly election on the Congress ticket, also joined the BJP with his around 1,000 supporters.
The president of District Congress Seva Dal, Chotaudepur, Bariya Gandpatsinh Chelubhai, along with 23 former sarpanches, 25 former panches of gram panchayats, 1 taluka panchayat member, and 65 others joined the BJP.
Mukesh Bhai Sakhiya, General Secretary of Sarpanch Parishad Gujarat, M M Gadhvi, Incharge state Sarpanch Parishad, joined the BJP. Former IRS officer Rameshbhai Chauhan and renowned choreographer Bharatbhai Bariya along with scores of other Congress leaders, cadres, and supporters joined the BJP in the function today.
