MMTH project ; platform number 4 of Surat Railway Station to shut for 100 days

Surat: Platform number four at Surat railway station will be shut from February 4 for the works to be taken up under the Multi Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) project for redevelopment of Surat railway station.
The works are underway speedily at present under MMTH project at Surat railway station’s Eastern side. The works underway are pertaining to construction of colony and railway buildings. The works are also underway for the construction of an integrated State transport bus terminal building on the side of the current Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) office. The works are being monitored and reviewed by the officials of the Western Railways.
The works to construct the elevated concourse at Surat railway station’s platform are going to start next month from February 4, for which machines are required to be installed. In connection with this, the platform number four will be shut for around three months period or little more upto 100 days.
With closure of the platform number four, the unreserved ticket counter building will also be demolished. Temporary counters are set up with 3 ticket windows for the passengers arriving from the Eastern side towards Varachha. DeshGujarat
