Insect found in food at BAPS-run Premvati Restaurant in Shahibaug

Ahmedabad: In another instance of hygiene issues in the city’s food establishments, an incest was found in a dish served at Premvati Restaurant in Shri Swaminarayan Temple, Shaibuag area.
A video depicting the incident has gone viral on social media, where Akash Shukla narrated an incident where he ordered Khichdi, Moriya Khichdi, and Falahari Bhel from Premvati restaurant at the renowned Swaminarayan Temple in Shahibuag. While eating the food, a dead insect appeared in the dish. In response, the customer took pictures and videos of the insect and complained to the restaurant staff.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Food Department Head, Dr. Bhavin Joshi, stated that the civic body received a complaint about an insect in food from Premvati Restaurant in Shahibaug. Consequently, the food department staff was dispatched to the location, and sampling of various items was conducted. The restaurant has also been fined Rs. 10,000.
Food hygiene has become a matter of concern in the city, with several cases of insects being found in food served at cafes and restaurants regularly. DeshGujarat
