Surat: Ticker charge for current and reserve tickets can be paid now using UPI at Surat railway station. A QR code scan trail was performed and UPI payment was accepted during 10 am to 5 pm period. 171 passengers paid ticket charge through UPI during these hours. With this, UPI mode of payment will begin at Surat railway station, giving relief to passengers from the issue of chhutta paisa (change). The QR code based UPI payment system was for the first time started at Churchgate PRS centre in Mumbai. After successful trial, it was made available at Surat railway station on trial basis.
