PM Modi goes underwater in deep sea off Gujarat coast to see submerged city of Dwarka

Dwarka: Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi went underwater off Gujarat coast in Arabian sea at Panchkui beach of Dwarka in Devbhumi Dwarka district. PM today morning visited Bet Dwarka mandir before inaugurating Okha – Bet Dwarka Sudarshan setu sea bridge. He then visited Dwarkadhish mandir and later entered into a boat at Panchkui beach to go deep water. Scuba diving activity is going on at Shivrajpur beach for last few years.

PM Modi went underwater, in the deep sea and prayed at the site where the submerged city of Dwarka is. This experience offered a rare and profound connection to India’s spiritual and historical roots. This is the ancient city linked closely with Bhagwan Shri Krishna and was a hub of grandeur and prosperity.

For PM Modi, this was not just a journey through the waters but a passage through time, evoking the city’s glorious past and its association with one of the most revered Gods of Hinduism.

PM Modi paid homage to Dwarka, a city that continues to captivate imaginations with its rich cultural and spiritual legacy. Underwater, He offered peacock fathers also as tribute.

In his speech at Dwarka later, the PM said – ‘I had another such experience this morning. The moments I had that will stay with me for life. I visited the ancient Dwarkaji by going into the deep sea. Archaeologists have written a lot about this Dwarka located in the ocean. Even in our scriptures it is written about Dwarka that this entire place with beautiful gates and tall buildings will be like a peak on earth. It is said that Lord Vishwakarma himself built this city of Dwarika. Dwarika city was a great example of the best city in India, its planning, its development. Today when I was having darshan of Dwarikaji inside the dark ocean, I was feeling the same magnificence, divinity. I bowed down to Lord Krishna, Dwarikadhisa. I also took with me peacock feathers which I offered in remembrance of Lord Krishna. I had been curious for years when I learned from archaeologists about this. I used to think that I would go, touch the remains and bow with devotion. My wish of many years was fulfilled today. I was overwhelmed. The dream that was dreamed for decades was fulfilled today by touching this holy land. You can imagine the joy inside me. And I stayed for a long time there inside. And my delay here is due to that.’
