Thousands of Congress office bearers, cadres, supporters join BJP in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Thousands of Congress office bearers, leaders, cadres and supporters today gathered at the State BJP headquarters Shri Kamalam here to join the BJP. Among the leading faces are Naran Rathwa, his son Sanghram Rathwa and Abhishek Upadhyay. Naran Rathwa is current Rajya Sabha member whose term is ending on first week of upcoming month of April. He is five-term ex-MP from Chhota Udepur Lok Sabha seat and former union minister. His son Sangram Rathwa is President of Chhota Udepur municipality. Abhishek Upadhyay who joined BJP today was Congress party’s Vadodara district working President. Dharmendra Patel (Dhamabhai) who joined BJP today was Congress candidate on Amraiwadi seat in the State assembly polls.
There were just too many Congress workers present at State BJP headquarters to join BJP, that the State media cell convener had to repeatedly announce that only those whose names are announced should come to stage. After offering saffron scarf and caps to many Congress workers, the State BJP chief CR Patil left the stage. The others were offered party’s scarf and caps by State BJP vice president Gordhan Zadafia.
India will witness general elections of Lok Sabha in the months of April and May this year. Ahead of the major elections, today’s was yet another high-voltage function to induct Congress leaders to BJP. Ruling BJP won all 26 Lok Sabha seats in both last general elections in 2014 and 2019. The party has this time asserted to win each of 26 seats for third time with margin of over five lakh votes. DeshGujarat
