Crowd management, other preparedness at Udhna & Surat railway stations reviewed ahead of Holi

Surat: In view of the upcoming festive season rush of Holi festival at Udhna & Surat railway stations, Western Railway is getting all geared, with several precautionary measures and various elaborate arrangements being made for proper implementation of crowd management at these stations. In this direction, Shri Niraj Verma, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division visited Surat and Udhna stations on Wednesday, 6th March, 2024 and took stock of various measures being planned for smooth crowd management.
According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, DRM Shri Verma conducted an inspection of Surat and Udhna stations to check the preparedness for Holi festival at these stations. During the festive season of Holi, a large number of passengers travel from Surat & nearby areas to different parts of our country. Hence, it is necessary to make adequate arrangements for proper implementation of crowd management. As such, DRM also took stock of the preparedness and discussed with senior divisional officials regarding the plan being done related to entry/exit, holding areas, crowd movement, ticketing facilities and other passenger amenities related aspects. During the course of inspection, he also reviewed the progress of the ongoing redevelopment work of both, Surat & Udhna stations.
Western Railway has appealed all its valued passengers to avoid overcrowding at the stations during the festive rush and only the bonafide passengers to enter station premises as per the train timings. DeshGujarat
