Mehsana: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat, with the help of a decoy trap, today nabbed three police personnel posted at Visnagar Police Station in a bribery case involving Rs. 200. One accused was on run.
In this case, the ACB received a tip-off regarding policemen, GRD, TRB, and middlemen harassing riders in rural areas of the talukas in the Mehsana district, despite having legal documents. It was reported to ACB that these cops would demand bribes ranging from Rs. 100 to Rs. 1000. Based on this tip, the ACB arranged a decoy trap. During the operation, Prakashkumar Pratapbhai Chaudhary, a Lokrakshak working at Visnagar City Police Station, engaged in conversation with the decoy and demanded a bribe of Rs. 200.
During the trap, Chaudhary, along with Nasirbeg Aslambeg Mirza (Constable) and Nikhil Singh Gobarji Thakor (GRD), both posted at Visnagar City Police Station, were caught. Another accused, Deven Kumar Hemrajbhai Chowdhury, a Constable at Visnagar City Police Station, managed to escape.
The ACB has detained three of the accused and is proceeding with further actions. DeshGujarat
