Chotila: A collision between an ambulance and a truck on the Chotila-Rajkot highway last night left three people dead, including the ambulance driver.
The incident involved 35-year-old Kajalben Hareshbhai Makwana, from Rajpara village in Chotila taluka, who, along with her 18-year-old daughter and son, went to Chotila Referral Hospital for treatment around 10:30 PM. During treatment, the doctor advised transferring her to Rajkot Hospital due to her worsening condition.
As the government ambulance was already en route to Rajkot with another patient, Kajal Makwana, along with her daughter Payal Makwana (18), son, sister, and brother-in-law, opted for a private ambulance. However, en route to Rajkot, the ambulance collided with a truck near Aapagiga No Otlo on the highway.
Local residents alerted emergency services, and all patients were transported to Chotila Referral Hospital with assistance from 108 services. Tragically, Gitaben Jayeshbhai Miyatra was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. Additionally, Payal Hareshbhai Makwana and ambulance driver Vijay Jivabhai Bavaliya, (40) a resident of Chotila, were referred to Rajkot via 108 services. But, both succumbed to their injuries before reaching Rajkot. DeshGujarat
