Vadodara police book 6 for selling cow beef stuffed Samosas

Vadodara: The city police have arrested six people, including the proprietor of ‘Hussaini Samosa’, for selling samosas with cow beef filling.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided ‘Hussaini Samosa’ in Chhipwad on Saturday, where they confiscated the inventory. Hundreds of kilograms of samosa filling containing beef components were impounded and forwarded for forensic analysis. Later, when the lab test confirmed the presence of cow meat in the filling, the police booked and arrested six people in the case.

The individuals detained are identified as Yusuf Sheikh and Naeem Sheikh, the proprietors, as well as employees Hanif Bhathiyara, Dilawar Pathan, Moin Habdal, and Mobin Sheikh. It is learned that the large quantity of uncooked samosas was being distributed to shops across the city as meat-filled samosas, and the customers were consuming it unaware of cow beef presence in it.

Yusuf Sheikh told the police that he was following his father’s footsteps in the samosa selling business. However, it is also revealed that they lacked the necessary licensing to run the business. The probe has been launched regarding the origin of beef and to ascertain how long these people were selling cow beef samosas. DeshGujarat
