Ahmedabad: A month after its inauguration, the skin bank at Civil Hospital in the city received its first skin donation from a deceased donor on Tuesday.
The family of Rajubhai Parmar, a 52-year-old resident of Viratnagar in Odhav, also agreed to donate his liver, kidneys, and eyes. Parmar, who hailed from Dhandhuka, was admitted after suffering a stroke on April 7 and was declared brain dead on Monday. His relatives showed good awareness about organ donation, expressing their desire to donate his organs themselves, stated Dr. Rakesh Joshi, the medical superintendent of Civil Hospital.
