Gandhinagar: The Gujarat education department has announced the common academic calendar for year 2024-25 for universities and colleges in the state. However, this calendar does not apply to medical and pharmacy students.

The academic year is set to begin on June 24th, with second-year classes also commencing on the same day. First-year students will start their first semester on June 26th. The first term will span 124 days, running from June 24th to December 14th. Subsequently, the second term will last for 106 days, starting from December 16th and ending on April 28th.

Diwali vacation, as per the calendar, will last for 21 days from 27-10-2024 to 16-11-2024, while the summer vacation will commence on 29/04/2025 and last for 29 days until 16/06/2025.

It is also noteworthy that the summer vacation for the academic year 2023-24 will be from 09/05/2024 to 23/6/2024 in all government universities (excluding medical, engineering, pharmacy, and professional courses). DeshGujarat
