Porbandar: Porbandar: Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB), Gujarat Police’s Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) in a joint operation apprehended 14 Pakistani nationals with 86 kg foreign drugs in their possession, from high sea, off Gujarat coast. The seized narcotics, namely Heroin & Methamphetamine, weigh around 86 kgs (approx), with a market value of approximately Rs. 602 Crores.

The ICG ship Rajratan, equipped with ATS and NCB officials, positively identified the suspect boat despite attempts to evade detection. The swift response of the Rajratan, supported by a fleet of ships and aircraft on concurrent missions, left no room for escape for the drug-laden vessel. The ship’s specialist team embarked on the suspect boat and, after thorough checks, confirmed the presence of a sizeable amount of narcotics. The crew and the vessel are currently being escorted to Porbandar for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The collaboration between the ICG and ATS, which has led to eleven successful law enforcement operations in the last three years, reaffirms the synergy for national objectives. It is also noteworthy that this was the second major operation by the NCB and Gujarat ATS in just 24 hours.
