Former MP Dinu Bogha Solanki acquitted in Amit Jethwa murder case

Ahmedabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Dinubhai Boghabhai Solanki was acquitted today in the Amit Jethwa murder case during the hearing held in the Gujarat High Court.

All the accused, including Dinu Bodha Solanki, who were arrested in this case, have been acquitted. While acquitting all the accused, the high court made the observation that the investigation agency and the prosecution failed to uncover the truth.

In the year 2010, RTI activist Amit Jethwa was shot dead in front of the Gujarat High Court, leading to the arrest of all the accused involved in the murder, including BJP leader Dinu Bogha Solanki, who was currently out on bail.

On July 20, 2010, RTI activist Amit Jethwa, a native of Khambha, was killed near the Gujarat High Court at 8:30 p.m. Amit Jethwa had come to the High Court to submit an affidavit on that day, stating that his life was in danger from Dinu Bogha. Later, Bhikhabhai Jethwa, the father of the deceased Amit Jethwa, filed a complaint against seven people, including former Gir Somnath MP Dinu Bogha Solanki, at the Sola police station. The investigation of the case was transferred to the CBI in 2012 on the order of the High Court. On November 5, 2013, the former BJP MP from Gir Somnath, Dinu Bogha Solanki, was arrested, and later, after being in jail for three and a half months, the court granted him bail. DeshGujarat
