Gujarat CM’s son Anuj casts his vote in wheelchair; Netizens applaud his dedication

Ahmedabad: A video has gone viral on social media, showing how Anuj Patel, son of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, cast his vote. Anuj, who had suffered a severe brain stroke last year, cast his vote after reaching the polling booth in a wheelchair.

Polling for the General Elections for Lok Sabha is ongoing for 25 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat. Along with lakhs of voters exercising their right to vote, several prominent figures including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel cast their votes in Ahmedabad.

While the Chief Minister garners praise for his simplicity, as he stood in a long line to cast his vote as an ordinary citizen, the heartwarming video of Anuj has garnered attention from netizens who praised him for fulfilling his responsibility despite his illness. Netizens also praised how both the CM and his son cast their votes without any VVIP culture.

Anuj was hospitalized on April 30th last year in KD hospital after suffering a brain stroke and slipping into a coma. After initial treatment there, he was airlifted to Mumbai-based Hinduja hospital. Following surgery, he underwent physiotherapy at Kokilaben hospital before returning to Gujarat after four months of treatment.
