Only one LS seat in Gujarat in 2024 registers polling higher than 2019

Gandhinagar: If compared to the turnout of 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the only Lok Sabha constituency where turnout increased in 2024 Lok Sabha polls is Banaskantha. Against 64.69% turnout in 2019, the turnout in 2024 has been 68.44%, which is roughtly four percent increase.

All other Lok Sabha constituencies in Gujarat have witnessed reduced turnou. Highest decrease in turnout is witnessed in Bardoli seat in South Gujarat. Against 73.57% turnout in 2019, it is just 64.59 this time, meaning 8.98% cut in turnout here.

While Election Commission had released the number of voters who cast votes per constituency in 2019, no such data is shared this year so far. Even the list of total number of voters per Lok Sabha constituency is not shared anywhere in public domain.

Gujarat overall witnessed 64.51 percent voting in 2019. However the figures shared on the next day of polling showed 64.11% voting.
