Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Police Inspector booked, ASI, Head Constable nabbed in bribe case

Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked a Police Inspector from the Cyber Crime police station in Ahmedabad, and arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable from the same station, in a bribery case.
The accused, BM Patel, is an Inspector at the Cyber Crime police station located in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad, and holds a Class-2 government position. Constable Amthabhai Patel and ASI Gaurang Gameti, both from the same police station, are also implicated in the case.
According to the ACB, the complainant in this case was facing charges related to cricket satta betting. The accused had demanded a bribe for expediting the chargesheet process. The initial bribe amount demanded was Rs. 10 lakh.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay a bribe, he contacted the ACB, leading to the setup of a trap. The constable and ASI were apprehended after receiving the bribe. The accused police inspector is yet to be arrested, and it is understood that he is on run. DeshGujarat
