Instagram influencer Kirti Patel booked in extortion case

Surat: Social media influencer, Kirti Patel, known for her TikTok and Instagram videos and various controversies, has been accused of demanding ₹2 crores as extortion from builder Vaju Patel in Surat. Kirti allegedly took advantage of a financial dispute between Vaju and Vijay Manji Savani and posted defamatory content about Vaju on Instagram. This led to charges against her by Surat police.
ACP V.R. Patel stated that the conflict between Vaju Patel and Vijay Manji Savani dates back eight years. Vijay had initially invested ₹5 lakhs in Vaju’s project, which later got canceled, prompting Vijay to demand ₹2 crores in return. Vaju had previously filed cases against Vijay in 2017 and 2018 for clashes, defamation, and extortion.
Kirti Patel supported Vijay Savani by threatening Vaju Patel online and posting demeaning captions and obscene pictures of him on Instagram. She claimed to have Vaju’s obscene videos that she threatened to release. The Bhuri gang, including Jahangir (alias Zakir Pathan), also got involved, drugging Vaju and taking compromising photos, which Kirti then made viral.
The police arrested Vijay Savani, seized his phones, and found evidence, including edited photos of Vaju with Manisha Goswami, a local paan shop owner. Kirti Patel’s involvement and her potential gains from this defamation action are under investigation. An offense has been filed under various IPC sections like 368, 389, 504, 506(2), 328, 507, 120(B), and I.T. Act 66(E), 67. Police are investigating the case. DeshGujarat
