Illegal Bar raided by State Monitoring Cell; Local Police Inspector Suspended

Surat: Saroli Police Inspector SA Desai has been suspended following a raid that exposed an illegal bar operating near Sayona crossroads last Sunday in Saroli police station area. The State Monitoring Cell’s successful raid revealed that the bar had been operating under the radar of the Saroli police. The establishment was found equipped with amenities resembling those of a typical beer bar in other States, prompting action from authorities.

During the raid, authorities caught ten customers at the location, where liquor was being sold alongside facilities like tables, chairs, fridges, and coolers.The main accused, Dilip Patil, and several accomplices managed to evade capture amidst the chaos.

The raid led to the seizure of items worth Rs 5.04 lakh, including Rs 61,090 worth of liquor and Rs 72,360 in liquor-related snacks, along with 10 mobile phones and 6 motorcycles. Dilip Patil had hired guards and staff to oversee operations and had set up 7 QR code systems for online payments.

In response to the incident, Police Commissioner Anupamsinh Gehlot suspended PI SA Desai. The main accused, including Dilip Gharate (Patil), Rajendra Patil, Rahul Chandel, Mahendra Dharate, and seven others, are now wanted by the authorities in connection with the illegal operation. DeshGujarat
