Navsari: Gruner Renewable Energy today announced plans to construct a compressed biogas (CBG) facility in Gujarat at an estimated expenditure of Rs 220 crore.

The CBG plant, situated in Navsari, aims to generate 44 tonnes of biogas per day by utilizing cost-effective raw materials such as paddy, pressmud, cane trash, and municipal solid waste (MSW). According to a statement from Gruner Renewable Energy, this translates to an annual production exceeding 16,000 tonnes of biogas.

“Gruner Renewable Energy, in partnership with a prominent business conglomerate, is poised to establish Asia’s largest compressed biogas plant in Navsari, Gujarat, with an estimated investment of around Rs 220 crore,” the company stated.

Highlighting the significance of such initiatives in India’s efforts to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, Utkarsh Gupta, Founder and CEO of Gruner Renewable Energy, remarked, “The inauguration of facilities like the one in Navsari will play a pivotal role in advancing our sustainable energy objectives.”

He further emphasized that the establishment of CBG plants will contribute significantly to diminishing the country’s crude oil import expenses. DeshGujarat
