Vadodara: A fire broke out in the ENT department of Sir Sayajirao General Hospital (SSG Hospital) this morning. The fire erupted after a spark in the anesthesia machine when a hospital staff member went to plug it in. The smoke detectors installed in the hospital identified the fire, and it was doused before it could spread with the help of fire hoses and other equipment.
Devshi K Helaiya, Resident Medical Officer of the hospital, said, “In the early morning, the fire safety smoke detectors of the hospital detected the fire, and our staff, fire safety officers, and firemen all reached the spot and doused the fire with the help of our hospital’s fire safety equipment, stopping it from spreading further.”
“No loss of life or major property damage has occurred. Some electrical devices might have suffered damage, which will be inspected by the technical team, and an assessment will be done,” he added. DeshGujarat
