Ahmedabad RTO driving test track waterlogged after just 2 inches of rain; Tests cancelled
June 25, 2024
Ahmedabad: The driving test track at the city’s Regional Transport Office (RTO) became waterlogged after the city witnessed around 2 inches of rain on Monday night. With around 300 applicants appearing on average for the driving test every day, today applicants had to suffer as the track was waterlogged.
The tests will resume once the water is removed from the track. However, if it rains again after the water is drained, the applicants are likely to witness the same issue again.
An applicant who traveled 20 kilometers to take the test said, “The driving test track is often closed due to various issues. Initially, a server crash caused problems, and now the track has become unusable after just two hours of rain, causing significant inconvenience to applicants coming from far away.”
Another applicant, who had come from Naroda, said, “I made an appointment a month ago, and now with the sudden rain, the leave I took from work is wasted, and I have to come again.”
When asked, officials said that the driving test could be taken tomorrow. Therefore, around 300 applicants today will have to be rescheduled, causing potential congestion at the RTO tomorrow. DeshGujarat
