Southwest Monsoon 2024 now covers the entire state of Gujarat

Gandhinagar: The Southwest Monsoon 2024 has covered the entire state of Gujarat today. The monsoon this year took around 17 days to cover the entire state.

The monsoon, which made its onset in Navsari on June 10th, remained stagnant there for over 10 days. However, with the occurrence of favorable conditions such as cyclonic circulation over Gujarat, the Southwest Monsoon covered the entire South Gujarat last Saturday and then progressed rapidly to cover Central Gujarat and the entire Saurashtra on Tuesday. Since then, with heavy rains in parts of the state, the monsoon has moved further ahead, covering the remaining North Gujarat and Kutch regions today.

Informing about this, the IMD in its latest bulletin stated, “Southwest Monsoon further advanced into remaining parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat State; some more parts of Rajasthan, most parts of Madhya Pradesh; some more parts of West Uttar Pradesh; Bihar, some parts of East Uttar Pradesh; most parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, some parts of Punjab today on 27th June 2024. Thus covering the entire Gujarat state today, the 27th June 2024.” DeshGujarat
