Japanese semiconductor firms eager to come to Gujarat: Consul General of Japan tells CM

Gandhinagar: Consul General of Japan Yagi Koji today met with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in the state capital.
During his visit to Gujarat, Consul General Koji expressed pleasure and emphasized the strong relations and strategic global partnership between Japan, India, and Gujarat, crediting it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He stated that these ties have opened new avenues for business and economic relations, driven by the Vibrant Global Summit, which has encouraged numerous Japanese industries to invest in Gujarat.
Koji also mentioned that Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s visit to Japan was a fruitful choice. The Consul General of Japan added that Suzuki Motors has announced its expansion project in Gujarat at the Vibrant Summit 2024. Additionally, Japanese semiconductor manufacturing companies are eager to come to Gujarat in collaboration with Indian companies.
Appreciating this interest, the Chief Minister assured that the state government will provide the necessary help in selecting and allocating the required site and land for such projects. The Chief Minister praised Japan’s participation in the consecutive successes of the Vibrant Summit.
During the meeting, the Consul General noted the investment potential in Gujarat in avenues beyond automobiles and semiconductors, particularly in renewable energy and green ammonia projects. He discussed expanding Japan’s presence in infrastructure projects such as Metro Rail and the Dedicated Freight Corridor, among others, in Gujarat.
The meeting also discussed plans being made by Mr. Mukesh Patel, Honorary Consul of Japan in Gujarat, to strengthen cultural relations with the business and economy sectors as India-Japan friendship marks 50 years. DeshGujarat
