July 03, 2024
Gandhinagar: The state government is planning to upgrade the current four-lane highways between Ahmedabad-Sanand and Ahmedabad-Mehsana into six-lane highways, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,868 crore.
Of this total, Rs 668 crore will be allocated for the 28km stretch from Ahmedabad to Sanand, and Rs 1,200 crore for the 51.6km stretch from Ahmedabad to Mehsana.
It has been learned that technical studies for these projects have been completed, and the government is in the process of finalizing contractors. According to reports, work on both highways is expected to commence within approximately three months.
Both highways experience heavy traffic, and expanding them to six lanes will help alleviate traffic congestion. DeshGujarat
