AMC to conditionally reopen over 150 sealed pre-schools in Ahmedabad
July 03, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will reopen more than 150 pre-schools that were sealed for the last 15 days. The schools will have to submit a notarized binding letter and get approval from the deputy municipal commissioner. The schools that do not have fire safety certificates will have to obtain those within 30 days.
Administrators must provide a notarized binding letter on Rs. 300 stamp paper and obtain fire safety certificates within 30 days. If construction is not regularised, the seal will be temporarily lifted for three months to allow regularisation. If construction or usage was changed after the GUDA 2022 cut-off date and there’s no valid BU permission, schools will have three months to obtain the necessary permission to open the seal. The school’s administrators will be held responsible if any mishaps occur meanwhile.
The zonal office will handle the reopening process. Applicants must submit a written request along with a notarized letter and a valid fire safety certificate or proof of application for that. The zonal office will then report to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner for approval. The charges for opening the seal will be determined, and the seal will only be lifted after obtaining the applicant’s signature. If fire safety measures are not completed within the given timeframe, the applicant must cease use and notify the municipal corporation. DeshGujarat
