Met Amit Shah twise, seeking removal of Praful Patel, result soon: Diu Daman MP

Diu: Independent Member of Parliament (MP) from the Union Territory of Diu and Daman, Umesh Patel, said he has met with Union Home Minister Amitbhai Shah twice since being elected as MP and strongly demanded the removal of Praful Patel from the post of Administrator of Diu & Daman. Patel went on to say that the results of his demand will be visible within a month or two.

Patel, who surprised both the rival BJP and Congress by winning the seat as an independent candidate, said his main demand during the campaign and after becoming MP is the removal of Praful Patel. He mentioned that there are over two dozen issues pertaining to Diu and Daman, and he has submitted those questions in Parliament, but the main issue remains the removal of Praful Patel.

When asked which party he would support in Parliament or eventually join, the newly elected MP said he and his supporters would make a decision in this regard after observing who is willing to respond to their demands and issues.

Umesh Patel said he has not met Praful Patel formally or informally ever. He mentioned that in the past, Praful Patel would order the police to detain him and forcefully keep him kilometers away. However, recently in Delhi, both of them were staying in the same Daman Bhavan in the national capital, and Praful Patel approached him on his own to congratulate him and convey some courteous words. – DeshGujarat
