Gujarat govt increases incentives for hospital staff under PMJAY Scheme
July 16, 2024
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has decided to increase incentives for doctors, paramedical staff, and support staff in government hospitals under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) scheme. This decision aims to enhance the standard of treatment for beneficiaries in these hospitals.
Previously, only income from SECC (BPL listed) beneficiaries was eligible for disbursement. This criterion has now been expanded to include all PMJAY beneficiaries, regardless of income.
In terms of revenue distribution, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot will collectively receive 25% of the total revenue. District hospitals near major cities such as Anand, Mehsana, Jamnagar, and Navsari will receive 35%, while tribal and rural districts will receive 40%. The current incentive will be increased by 10 to 15 times.
Currently, government hospitals account for 18% of PMJAY claims. The government plans to increase this to 25% within one year and to 30% within two years. DeshGujarat
