Gujarat ATS arrests suspended lady cop Nita Chaudhary

Bhuj: Suspended lady police constable Nita Chaudhary has been arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Gujarat team from Bhalgamda village near Limdi. Nita was on the run after the Bhachau sessions court in Kutch district cancelled her bail in an attempted murder and liquor prohibition case. Meanwhile, Nita had also filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Gujarat High Court, challenging the Bhachau sessions court’s order of cancelling her bail. Nita was found in Bhalgamda village in the Limdi area of Surendranagar district. She was hiding at the house of the in-laws of a bootlegger with whom she was arrested earlier. ATS has handed her over to Kutch police. Subsequently, she has been sent to Galbadar jail.

On 30th June, police tried to stop a white Thar vehicle, but it didn’t stop and tried to hit the policemen on duty. Police later found liquor stock from the Thar vehicle and also found a bootlegger Yuvrajsinh Jadeja along with lady police constable Nita Chaudhary inside. Police filed two complaints against Nita and Jadeja under the sections of prohibition, IPC 307, 427, and 114. The lower court later released Nita on bail, but when the police challenged it, the Bhachau sessions court cancelled the bail. When police reached Nita’s house to arrest her, she was not found there.
