Red alert for Saurashtra region for next 48 hours; IMD forecasts heavy rain in Gujarat until July 21

Gandhinagar: Monsoon was active over Saurashtra-Kutch on Tuesday, with very heavy rainfall occurring at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Rajkot, Junagadh, and Gir Somnath, while rainfall was widespread across the state. The IMD has issued a forecast of heavy rain for the next 5 days, along with a red alert for the Saurashtra region for the next 48 hours.
According to the IMD bulletin until 8:30 am on July 18th, a red alert is in place for Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, and Diu, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places, including isolated extremely heavy falls.
An orange alert is in place with warnings of heavy to very heavy rains in districts namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Botad, and Kutch.
Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Patan, Mehsana, Panchmahal, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Dangs, and Tapi.
On July 18th, a red alert is issued for Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, and Dwarka, while an orange alert is in place with warnings of heavy to very heavy rains in districts namely Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch, and Diu.
Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Banaskantha, Patan, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, and Tapi.
On July 19th, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Kutch, and Diu are on orange alert with heavy to very heavy rains very likely.
Heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, and Tapi, and in the districts of Saurashtra, namely Surendranagar, Morbi, and Botad.
On July 20th, heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, namely Amreli, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar, and Diu.
