Banaskantha: Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Banas Dairy. This agreement focuses on establishing the fifth biogas production plant in Gujarat and promoting a rural mobility service that utilizes biogas.

The signing ceremony took place on Friday at the Banas Dairy Sanadar Plant in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, attended by Banas Dairy Chairman Shankar Chaudhary, NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah, and Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki. Approximately 2,500 dairy farmers from nearby areas were present at the event, according to an official release.

The three organizations aim to set up 5 biogas production plants in Banaskantha district, with the latest agreement specifically for the fifth plant in Tharad, also located in the district. These plants will be set up at cost of Rs. 250 crore and will be ready by 2025.

“Through our collaboration with Banas Dairy and NDDB, we are initiating two new ventures: the biogas production plant and the rural mobility service. Each party will contribute ideas to create a new lifestyle model and aid in the development of Banaskantha district,” Suzuki stated. DeshGujarat
