July 29, 2024
Gandhinagar: In the 24 hours ending at 6 am on 29 July, state of Gujarat received rainfall across 116 talukas, with Nadiad in the Kheda district of Central Gujarat recording the highest rainfall of 118 mm, or nearly 4.6 inches. Generally, 50 mm of rainfall, which is roughly 2 inches, would create a temporary waterlogging situation if the downpour occurs within a short span. Similarly, there were some areas in Nadiad that experienced waterlogging after up to 4.6 inches of rainfall. However, the intensity of rain across the state has subsided, with only 6 talukas receiving rainfall above 2 inches.
