Orange alert for 24 hours in parts of Gujarat; IMD forecasts heavy rains till August 3

Gandhinagar: The state of Gujarat has been battered by very heavy rainfall since last week, and as per the latest forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department, the heavy rains are likely to continue for the next five days. The IMD, in its latest bulletin, has issued an orange alert for the next 24 hours, after which a few places have been put under a yellow warning until August 3rd. The IMD forecast also states that, other than a few places expected to receive heavy rains, all the districts are projected to get light to moderate rain.

During the next 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on July 31st, an orange alert has been issued for Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch, and Diu, as these places are expected to witness heavy to very heavy rains.

A yellow warning of heavy rains has been issued for Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Dang, and Tapi for the next 24 hours.

On July 31st, a yellow warning of heavy rains has been issued for Banaskantha, Patan, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, as well as for the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch, namely Jamnagar, Porbandar, Morbi, Dwarka, and Kutch.

On August 1st, a yellow warning of likely heavy rains has been issued for Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, while the rest of Gujarat is likely to receive light to moderate rain.

On August 2nd, a yellow warning is in place for Surat, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

On August 3rd, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli will be on yellow alert for heavy rains, while light to moderate rains are likely across the state. DeshGujarat
