Several colleges in Gujarat shine in NIRF ranking

Gandhinagar: In Central government’s National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) list of top colleges of the country this year, two colleges of Gujarat have secured place. They are IIT Gandhinagar on 29th rank and Gujarat University on 94th rank. Gujarat University’s rank has gone down by 21 positions while IIT Gandhinagar’s ranking has gone down by 6 positions in last 3 years.
Among mangement colleges, IIMA has once again ranked 1st, followed by MICA on 32nd rank, IRMA at 49, Nirma at 55 and PDEU at 89. All these colleges have bettered their ranks compared to previous year. Ahmedabad based Gujarat Cancer Research Institute is placed at 45th rank in medical category.
In Engineering category, IIT Gandhinagar is ranked 18 while Surat based SVNIT is ranked 59. Ahmedabad based CEPT University is ranked 6th in Architecture category while Gujarat National Law University is ranked 8th in its category.
In pharma category, National Institute of Pharma Edu & Research Ahmedabad is ranked 15, Nirma is ranked 37, MSU 44, Parul University 47, LM Pharma 52, GTU 70, Ramanbhai Patel college 90, Uka Tarsadiya 91. Among open universities that are only 3 nationwide, Gujarat’s Babasaheb Ambedkar university is ranked third. Among Agriculture universities, Anand Agriculture University is ranked 23rd, while Navsari based Agriculture University is on 35th rank. DeshGujarat
