Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation has announced free travel for sisters and their children up to 15 years of age on August 19, 2024, on the occasion of the Raksha Bandhan festival. This initiative was suggested by the Chairman of the Public Transport Committee and will allow women and their children to travel for free on BRTS and city buses on the festive day.

It is noteworthy that Surat stands out as the only city in India where passengers can travel on both city buses and BRTS with a single ticket. Currently, around 2,00,000 citizens are using public transport services across 13 BRTS routes and 45 city bus routes. DeshGujarat
