BJP wins Vinchhiya Taluka Panchayat top post with support of Congress rebels

Rajkot: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Vinchhiya Taluka Panchayat as the party’s candidates for the President and Vice President positions have won unopposed.
A no-confidence motion against the Congress President of Vinchhiya Taluka Panchayat was passed on August 1. The Election Commission issued a notification for the election of the President and Vice President on August 17.
In the last elections held in Vinchhiya, Congress had won 14 out of 18 seats, while BJP had only won 4 seats. However today, 8 Congress members supported BJP. Congress leader Gitaben Deliwal had filed for the post of Vice President but was absent during the elections. DeshGujarat
