Bullet Train Project: Bridge over Vatrak River in Kheda Completed

Ahmedabad: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited announced on Wednesday that the river bridge over the Vatrak River in Kheda district has been completed as part of the ongoing Bullet Train project.

Completed on August 20, 2024, the bridge spans 280 meters and consists of seven full-span girders, each measuring 40 meters in length. The structure is supported by eight circular piers, with diameters ranging from 3.5 to 4 meters, and a height varying between 9 and 16 meters.

Situated between the Anand and Ahmedabad Bullet Train stations, the Vatrak River bridge is the 10th river bridge out of the 24 planned for the Bullet Train project.

The Vatrak River, originating from the hills of Dungarpur in Rajasthan and entering Gujarat near Moydi village in Meghraj taluka, is located 25 kilometers from the Anand station and 30 kilometers from the Ahmedabad station.

The other nine completed river bridges are as follows: Dhadhar River (120 m, Vadodara district), Par River (320 m, Valsad district), Purna River (360 m, Navsari district), Mindhola River (240 m, Navsari district), Ambika River (200 m, Navsari district), Auranga River (320 m, Valsad district), Venganiya River (200 m, Navsari district), Mohar River (160 m, Kheda district), and Kolak River (160 m, Valsad district).
