Sant Sarovar 90% full; high alert for Gandhinagar villages along Sabarmati bank

Gandhinagar: With the heavy, incessant rain in the upper reaches of the Sant Sarovar Dam, located in the state capital Gandhinagar, an alert has been issued for some areas along the banks of the Sabarmati River.
In a public notice, the Infocity police stated, ‘Due to heavy rains in the uplands, the Sant Sarovar Dam in the Infocity Police Station area is 90% full. Therefore, a high alert has been declared for the villages of Indroda, Dholakuva, Randesan, Raisan, Koba, and Nabhoi along the banks of the Sabarmati River. Citizens are advised not to visit the riverbanks, watch the water, bathe, or fish.’ DeshGujarat
