Vadodara schools to remain closed on Wednesday

Vadodara: On the instruction of the district collector, the District Education Officer of Vadodara has announced a holiday for schools in Vadodara city and district on Wednesday, August 28.
The DEO stated in a letter that due to the heavy rain that occurred throughout the entire district and in Vadodara city, as well as the forecast of heavy to very heavy rain by the Meteorological Department and the increase in the water level of the Vishwamitri River, all government, granted, non-granted, primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools in the district are hereby notified to remain closed on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
With a deep depression lying over the state, heavy incessant downpour has occurred in Vadodara city since Sunday. The Vishwamitri River, which passes through the city, is flowing 9 feet above its danger mark of 26 feet and is rising further. Today, also all schools in Vadodara were closed due to the flood situation.
