Vadodara: Level of water in Vishwamitri river rose to 35.25 ft at 2 pm on Tuesday, up from 35 at 1.30 pm on the same day. Since then the level has steadied. Though the real time data is showing 35.25 ft, the overtopping on Kala Ghoda bridge where the level is measured, resulted into the actual level at 37 ft.  Level at Ajwa which was 214.84 at its peak on Monday later went down to 213.65 and then rose to 213.75 ft. It then steadied through Wednesday at 213.75. The level of Vishwamitri river which is measured at Kala Ghoda bridge went at the highest level this year after the 2019 when the level had gone up to 35.50 ft. Similar flood situation in the city was also witnessed in 2014. The city is largely waterlogged with ankle deep to knee deep waters on the roads but waist deep and car deep in some of the areas. According to MLA Balu Shukla 70 percent of the city is waterlogged. Schools and colleges are shut and people are staying at home, waiting for level of Vishwamitri to go down. The danger level of Vishwamitri river at Kala Ghoda bridge is 26 ft. All bridges over the river are shut for traffic since Monday evening. DeshGujarat
