Midday Meals in Gujarat to have new menu from Sept 1
August 30, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has revised the menu for the PM Poshan Scheme in government and grant-in-aid primary schools, placing greater emphasis on vegetable consumption in midday meals.
Starting September 1, the new menu will include vegetables five days a week, up from the previous two days. Dishes like dal dhokli and veg pulao, which were previously served without vegetables, will now include them. The revised menu aims to maximize the use of green vegetables and ensure that meals meet the required calorie and protein content, even when prescribed pulses or dal are unavailable. DeshGujarat
