Garib Kalyan Melas across 19 districts of Gujarat on Sept 27

Gandhinagar: The 14th edition of the Garib Kalyan Mela will be held on September 27 this year across 19 districts of Gujarat. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will kick off the initiative from the state-level program that will be held in Banaskantha in North Gujarat.
While the Chief Minister inaugurates the event in Banaskantha, other ministers and office bearers of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party will be present at the programs in several other districts.
This year, aid kits valued at ₹125 crores will be distributed directly to more than 90,000 beneficiaries during the Garib Kalyan Mela. Additionally, stalls from different departments will be established at the melas to inform attendees about various government schemes.
The initiative was initiated in 2009 by then-Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Over the past 13 editions, a total of 1,604 Garib Kalyan Melas have been conducted, benefiting 1.66 crore individuals with assistance totaling over ₹36,800 crores. DeshGujarat
