GERC amends electricity supply code; increases low-tension power load limit
September 25, 2024
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has made amendments to the ‘Electricity Supply Code-2015.’ Previously, the power load limit for low-tension category connections was 100 KW, which has now been increased to 150 KW. With this decision, consumers wishing to connect up to 150 KW of power will now be able to opt for low-tension supply. This important decision is expected to boost industrial production, generate economic growth, and create new employment opportunities. Additionally, the development of EV charging infrastructure will be supported.
It is noteworthy that various industrial organizations and associations in the state had made representations to the state government to accommodate the increasing power demand, establish power resources, and increase the maximum load limit for low-tension and high-tension line connections. This significant decision has been taken by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) following a positive response from the state government. DeshGujarat
