Gandhinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit his home state of Gujarat next week on October 22. During this visit, he is expected to attend a workshop on legislative drafting to be held in the Gujarat Assembly. This workshop is being organized in partnership with the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU).

A senior official from the Gujarat Assembly secretariat stated that the workshop, guided by Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, aims to familiarize the new generation of state bureaucrats with legislative drafting, including rules, notifications, and bills. Class-I officials from different state departments will take part in the workshop, which will cover four topics: 1) Language of Drafting; 2) Constitutional provisions for legislative drafting; 3) Structure and formats of bills and rules; and 4) General rules of statutory interpretation and case studies.
