Finance Commission Members visit Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Members of India’s 16th Finance Commission arrived in Gujarat on Sunday and are set to meet Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other state government officials in Gandhinagar on Monday. The commission’s primary role is to recommend the distribution of central tax revenue between the central and state governments, as well as determine the grants allocated to states and local bodies, both rural and urban.
According to an official statement, Finance Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya, along with members Ajay Narayan Jha, Annie George Mathew, Manoj Panda, and Soumya Kanti Ghosh, will be in Gujarat from October 20 to 23.
