Tribal leaders object Dayro artist Rajbha Gadhvi’s remarks
October 25, 2024
Rajkot: Folk artist Rajbha Gadhvi, during a public function, spoke about various areas of India where the police warn people against venturing at night due to the apprehension of looting. Rajbha mentioned the jungle areas of Dang-Ahwa in South Gujarat as one such location. This has upset a section of politically active tribal people.
A video of Rajbha has gone viral, in which he can be heard saying that even the police warn against venturing into certain areas of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Gujarat’s Dang-Ahwa forests at night, as looters would even steal clothes and leave the victims undressed after robbing them.
Some politically active tribal leaders, including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Dediapada, Chaitar Vasava, and Dang’s Vasurna-based leader Dhanrajsinh Suryavanshi, among others, have objected to this remark as they believe it is against tribal people who live in jungles of Dang district. In an apparent overreaction, one Snehal Thakre visited the police inspector of Ahwa and demanded a police complaint under the Atrocity Act against Rajbha for his comment.
Meanwhile Lok Sabha member from Valsad, Dhaval Patel has released a video and stated that the people of Dang are welcoming people and Rajbha Gadhvi needs to apologise on video immediately. The tribal people would continue to protest untill apology is given, he added. DeshGujarat
