Factory owner held after deaths of 2 due to toxic fumes

Ahmedabad: The city police today nabbed the owner of Devi Enterprise after two laborers died and seven others were hospitalized due to inhaling toxic fumes believed to have been released during a chemical reaction at a dyeing and printing unit in the Narol area of the city.
Yuvrajsinh Gohil, SP of K Division Police, stated, “Two people have died, and seven people have been hospitalized with complaints of breathing issues. A case has been registered at Narol Police Station under Sections 105 and 54 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) against two individuals. The two booked are the proprietor of the company, Vinod Agarwal, and supervisor Mangalsinh Rajpurohit. Further investigation is underway.”
Industrial officers, along with representatives from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES), and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), have been called to investigate the incident. Further action will be taken by the police after the report from these agencies.
The police have arrested the company owner, Vinod Agarwal. Supervisor Mangalsinh, currently unwell, will be arrested once he recovers. DeshGujarat
