PM Modi, Spanish PM inaugurate TATA Aircraft Complex for Made in India C-295 aircraft in Vadodara

Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, is inaugurating the TATA Aircraft Complex at the TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus for the production of C-295 aircraft. Under the C-295 program, a total of 56 aircraft will be delivered, with 16 supplied directly by Airbus from Spain and the remaining 40 manufactured in India.

Tata Advanced Systems Ltd will oversee the production of these 40 aircraft in India, marking the country’s first private sector Final Assembly Line (FAL) for military aircraft. This facility will establish a complete ecosystem, encompassing all stages from manufacturing, assembly, and testing to delivery and maintenance throughout the aircraft’s lifecycle.

In addition to Tata, major defense public sector units like Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Bharat Dynamics Ltd., alongside private Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, will participate in the program.

Previously, in October 2022, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Vadodara Final Assembly Line (FAL). DeshGujarat
